Leviticus 14:15 - 12

Title: Cleansed and Renewed

Poem:
"Then on the seventh day he shall shave off all his hair... He shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he shall be clean. And on the eighth day he shall take... and the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord." (Leviticus 14:9, 16)

Reflection:
This passage describes the purification ritual for someone healed of leprosy—a powerful picture of God’s desire to restore what was broken. The washing, shaving, and sacrifices were not just about physical cleansing but symbolized a fresh start. The process took time (seven days), required obedience, and culminated in atonement—a reminder that true restoration comes from God alone.

For us, this points to Christ, who cleanses us from sin and makes us new (1 John 1:9). Just as the leper had to actively participate in their cleansing, we too must daily turn from sin and embrace God’s renewal. Whether it’s guilt, shame, or past mistakes, God offers complete restoration. His grace doesn’t just cover our sin; it transforms us. Are there areas where you need to receive His cleansing afresh?

Questions for Reflection:

  1. What "unclean" areas of your life (habits, thoughts, relationships) need God’s purifying touch?
  2. How can you actively participate in your spiritual renewal today?
  3. In what ways have you experienced God’s restoration after a season of brokenness?
  4. Who in your life needs to hear about the hope of Christ’s cleansing power?

Short Prayer:
Lord, thank You for making me clean through Jesus. Wash away anything that hinders my walk with You. Renew my heart and help me live in the freedom of Your grace. Amen.
